Jan. 31 Marks Chemical Reporting Deadline for Children’s Products Sold in Washington State

January 22, 2021 | The Toy Association is reminding companies that do business in the state of Washington that the next deadline for reporting chemicals in children's products is January 31.

Under Washington State’s “Children’s Safe Products Act” (CSPA), manufacturers are required to report on an annual basis if their children's products contain any chemicals included on the list of Chemicals of High Concern to Children. The list contains more than 85 chemicals that are required to be reported. The upcoming deadline affects any children’s products that were sold or offered for sale in Washington between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.

Chemicals should be reported through the Interstate Chemical Clearinghouse’s IC2 High Priority Chemical Data System (HPCDS). Please allow for additional time to complete the form if you are not familiar with the system.

Members may contact Jennifer Gibbons, vice president of state government affairs at The Toy Association, with any questions.
