Toy Foundation Announces Latest Round of Cash Grants & Toy Donations to Seven Charities
May 10, 2021 | As The Toy Foundation continues to provide philanthropic support and the vital commodity of play to children under stress and in dire situations, it has announced its next round of cash grants and in-kind toy donations to seven charities impacting children across the nation.
The Toy Foundation will provide a total of $290,000 in grants and $125,000 in toy donations to the following organizations:
- ThinkGive ($20,000)
- Playworks ($30,000)
- The Strong ($75,000)
- Arts Ed Newark, Trauma-informed Care and the Arts ($25,000)
- First Book ($40,000 grant + $75,000 in-kind toy donations)
- The Genius of Play ($50,000 first-time funding of The Toy Association program)
- Save the Children ($50,000 grant + $50,000 in-kind toy donations)
“We are proud to help fund these seven organizations, which are providing responses to support children and families who continue to experience major disruptions in their lives due to COVID-19 and its most massive impact on vulnerable, economically-challenged families,” said Ellen Lambert, interim executive director of The Toy Foundation. “We thank our toy company and individual donors who have helped make this possible. In the coming weeks, we will be announcing even more cash grants and toy donations to charities serving children in vulnerable communities.”
The Toy Foundation’s decades-long work has been made possible through industry-wide toy donations and cash contributions, which continue to allow the Foundation to serve millions of children, whether they are in need of essential goods and services, coping with serious illness, enduring temporary home placements in the foster care system, living with domestic violence, or dealing with natural disasters.
