The Toy Association™ Relaunches Key Washington Initiatives

Timed with United Nations International Day of Play, The Toy Association will be hosting its First Annual Day of Play on Capitol Hill on June 10 to elevate the profile of the toy industry and the importance of play, for lawmakers and policymakers. It will be followed by a D.C. Fly-In on June 11, with congressional and senate members and staff. More information will be provided in the coming weeks.

This engagement follows The Toy Association’s recent participation in the White House Easter Egg Roll (April 21) — marking the industry’s return to a prominent Washington tradition. This initiative was driven by member feedback coming out of strategy meetings during Toy Fair®. Many Toy Association member companies have participated in the event individually in the past, and the consensus was that a unified industry presence would have a greater impact to elevate the benefits of play to thousands of families.

In addition, The Toy Association is preparing to relaunch the Congressional Toy Caucus. The caucus, which historically served as a bipartisan platform to educate members of Congress about the social, educational, and economic benefits of the toy industry, will provide a formal avenue to advocate for issues that matter to the industry and to American families.

“Through these initiatives, we are strengthening and unifying the industry’s collective voice in Washington,” said Kathrin Belliveau, chief policy officer at The Toy Association. “We are proud to advocate for the essential value of play and the positive contributions our industry makes to families and communities across the nation.”
