U.S. Tariff Increase on Chinese Goods Delayed by 90 Days

cpsc logoAugust 11, 2025 | President Trump has signed an executive order that delays the planned increase of U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods by 90 days.

The higher tariffs, originally set to take effect at midnight on August 12, will now be implemented no earlier than November 10, 2025. This follows an agreement reached in May to pause retaliatory tariff actions between the two countries.

Until the new November deadline, U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports will remain at 30% and China’s tariffs on U.S. goods will stay at 10%. Without the extension, rates would have returned to April’s peak levels of 145% for U.S. duties and 125% for Chinese duties.
