Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Lynda Lopez to Host TOTY® Awards

September 11, 2023 | The Toy Foundation™ has announced that Emmy-winning journalist Lynda Lopez will emcee the Toy of the Year® (TOTY®) Awards, taking place on September 29 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Tickets to the TOTY Awards are still available.

Lopez is the midday news anchor at New York's popular 1010 WINS radio station. A New York resident and native of the Bronx, Lopez is a well-known local media personality who previously served as an anchor and reporter for WCBS 880, ABC News, and WPIX-11. Blending her influence with her philanthropic passions, Lopez is committed to supporting her Latinx community, as well as the children and families in need in NYC and beyond.

“I’m thrilled to anchor the toy industry’s biggest party of the year and help make the TOTY Awards a truly unforgettable night full of energy and enthusiasm to deliver play to all children,” Lynda said.

The TOTY Awards serve as the main philanthropic fundraiser for The Toy Foundation’s work delivering the extraordinary benefits of play to children in need. The evening will unveil the TOTY category winners, celebrating the toys, properties, and people of the industry; commemorate the 2023 inductees into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame; and shine a spotlight on The Toy Foundation’s philanthropic work. The night will include an auction, an exclusive performance from Grammy Award-winner Wyclef Jean, and more.
