Members-Only Webinar to Discuss New Data Privacy Regulations

April 9, 2018 | The Toy Association will host a webinar on April 26 at 12 p.m. (Eastern) to discuss new data privacy regulations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Registration is now open to Toy Association members.

The one-hour session, “COPPA and GDPR Comparison: Tips for Complying with Both Regulations,” will provide members with information and helpful guidelines to prepare for the new regulation that will come into effect on May 25, 2018.

Presenters Jennifer Pearson, senior policy and communications advisor for Toy Industries of Europe, and Sheila Millar, a partner at Keller & Heckman and outside counsel to The Toy Association, will also discuss how the requirements differ from compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and answer participants’ questions regarding the new regulation. The session will be moderated by Autumn Moore, manager of standards and regulatory affairs for The Toy Association.

All Toy Association member companies are invited to attend. The session is recommended for those responsible for developing company websites and apps, data protection specialists, and designers of internet-connected toys.
