The Toy Foundation Challenges Industry to Donate $1 Million in Toys to The Toy Bank this Summer

May 21, 2018 | The challenge is on this summer for toy manufacturers, distributors, and retailers to help bring smiles and laughter to thousands of disadvantaged kids by donating toys and games to The Toy Foundation’s (TTF) biggest collection of the year – the annual Summer Toy Drive. The Toy Foundation is looking to raise $1 million in toy donations through its Summer Toy Drive campaign.

Taking place now through Labor Day weekend, toy companies are encouraged to help the Foundation bring magical summertime memories and play experiences to those who are sick, in foster care, living on U.S. military bases, or facing other hardships. If your company has excess inventory, consider making a donation to TTF’s Toy Bank, which accepts brand-new toys and games of all kinds, including action figures, arts and crafts, dolls, plush, puzzles, and outdoor toys.

This year, TTF is offering an incentive – the first company to give $100,000 or more in toys and games to the Foundation’s Toy Bank will be featured in a press release to the media highlighting the company’s big-hearted donation.

“What could be more fun for a kid than spending a summer day running through a sprinkler or creating an artistic sidewalk masterpiece with a piece of chalk? All children deserve a chance to experience the magic of play but not every child has access to skill-building toys and games,” said Elizabeth Max, TTF’s senior foundation manager. “We challenge your company to give generously and make a child’s day through this critical toy collection.”

Toy companies may contact Elizabeth Max to learn more about the Summer Toy Drive. All donations are tax deductible.

Since 2003, $200 million in brand-new toys have been distributed to 24 million children and families in need through The Toy Bank, the Foundation’s signature program.
