On November 1, The Toy Association™ will kick off the fifth annual Toy Safety Awareness Month, an industry-wide initiative that champions safe play and responsible toy shopping during the height of the holiday shopping season.
The Toy Association is encouraging toy manufacturers, retailers, and any other professionals working in the business of play to get involved throughout the month by offering parents and caregivers reliable and helpful information on safe toy shopping, appropriate toy selection, and safe play at home. The initiative invites everyone in the play industry to share helpful safety tips with consumers on their social media channels, websites, and in stores. Participation in Toy Safety Awareness Month demonstrates a commitment to being an advocate for safe play.
To get involved, simply follow The Toy Association on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, and share content related to safety using #ToySafetyAwarenessMonth and #PlaySafe in all posts. Throughout the month, The Toy Association will be highlighting a different aspect of toy safety and related assets that can be shared online or printed out and shared in stores with consumers, including:
Toy safety is the No. 1 priority of The Toy Association and its 800+ members, whose products are required to adhere to more than 100 rigorous safety standards and tests. Toy Safety Awareness Month serves as a prime opportunity to showcase these efforts to the media, consumers, and NGOs, while countering misleading reports from some groups that exploit the holiday shopping season to raise unfounded concerns about toy safety.
Additional resources are available at PlaySafe.org, the industry’s year-round play safety resource for parents and caregivers.
