The toy industry will convene in Washington, DC this week as The Toy Association™ hosts the 2026 DC Fly-In and Annual Day of Play on Capitol Hill. The events will bring together toy business owners and policymakers for meetings and interactive experiences to spotlight top industry priorities, the value of play, and the toy industry's contributions to the U.S. economy.
During the June 10th Fly-In, business leaders will hold small group meetings with Administration officials, lawmakers, and congressional staff to highlight the toy industry’s economic and cultural impact in the U.S. and advocate for policies that support product innovation, small businesses, and continued growth across the industry. Key discussion topics will include trade policy and the need for the toy sector’s exemption from tariffs, as well as artificial intelligence.
On June 11th, The Toy Association’s Annual Day of Play on Capitol Hill, which coincides with the United Nations’ globally recognized International Day of Play, will align advocacy with a worldwide celebration of play. Taking place in the Rayburn House Office Building Foyer, the event will welcome policymakers and congressional staff for a hands-on showcase of toys and games. Through interactive play activations and toy company exhibits, attendees will experience firsthand how toys and games support children’s development while reinforcing the importance of policies that protect and promote play opportunities.
“From advocating on behalf of our members to celebrating the power of play, this week is all about ensuring that policymakers understand both the economic and societal impact of the toy industry on American families,” said Kathrin Belliveau, chief policy officer at The Toy Association. “With the upcoming third annual International Day of Play this week, there is no better time to showcase why play matters to children, families, and communities everywhere.”
