The Toy Association™ Launches Summer Safety Campaign

With the first day of summer right around the corner, The Toy Association™ is sharing its top tips for safe outdoor play and toy shopping on social media to ensure kids are playing safely while having fun in the sun.

Through August, The Toy Association will spotlight a safety tip from PlaySafe.org each week, sharing practical reminders with families on Instagram while encouraging the toy community to engage with the posts on LinkedIn.

Everyone is invited to like, share, and repost campaign content (using #PlaySafe) to encourage parents and caregivers to supervise play, ensure children are playing with age-appropriate toys, among other safety advice. The campaign is also reinforcing the importance of purchasing toys only from reputable, verified sellers that comply with the U.S.’s rigorous toy safety standards and testing requirements.

“Summer brings countless opportunities for children to learn, explore, and create lasting memories through play,” said Joan Lawrence, The Toy Association’s “Toy Safety Mom” and senior vice president of standards and regulatory affairs. “Whether families are heading to the park, spending a day at the beach, enjoying ride-on toys, playing inside on a rainy day, or having a backyard barbecue, a few simple safety precautions will ensure children are staying safe while having fun!”
