TIA Welcomes 154 New Members Since Fourth Quarter 2016

January 10, 2017 | The Toy Industry Association (TIA) proudly welcomes 154 new members that joined the Association between October 2016 and January 2017. TIA had 17 companies join as members in October 2016 and 137 companies became members on January 1st. These organizations and others combined make up the more than 900 TIA member companies that collectively account for an estimated 90% of domestic toy sales.

Also of note, 25 companies that are new to TIA membership this year are international companies. TIA first began allowing international companies to become members approximately three years ago.

“As the toy industry becomes more global in scope, so are TIA members. Today more companies in Europe and Asia are seeing the value in joining our Association,” said Ken Ebeling, TIA vice president of strategic development and member services. “TIA and its members are committed to strict toy safety standards, staying ahead of the curve when it comes to legislative and trade issues as well as becoming the voice of the developmental benefits of play for children.”

Companies that become full TIA members declare compliance with the principles contained in the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) CARE Process for ethical manufacturing and agree to follow the TIA Member Code of Conduct.
