Reserve Your Ticket for the 2018 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards
December 5, 2017 | Tickets are now available for the Toy Industry Foundation’s (TIF) 18th Annual Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards ceremony. The prestigious gala honoring the industry’s top toys, games, and licenses in the marketplace is taking place on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City. The TOTY Awards program and event serve as a critical fundraiser for the Toy Industry Foundation, which, since 2003, has provided $200 million in toys to 24 million children in need around the globe through generous donors to its signature program, The Toy Bank.
This year’s awards will be given in 17 categories, including several new or renamed categories, such as Playset of the Year and Creative Toy of the Year. Additionally, one product will win the People’s Choice Award, based solely on consumer votes, and another will win the coveted overall Toy of the Year Award, selected by retailers, journalists, and Toy Association members.
Details on this year’s TOTY Awards gala:
- The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail networking reception with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a plated dinner and dessert. Guests will enjoy live entertainment and a special tribute to the Foundation. The ceremony will also commemorate the newest inductees into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame.
- Following the ceremony, a celebratory networking afterparty will be held from 9:30 to 11 p.m.
- Tickets for the entire evening cost $395 per person ($3,950 per 10-person table) giving access to the cocktail reception, awards ceremony, and afterparty. Guests may also purchase tickets for the afterparty only for $95.
“The excitement and anticipation is building for this year’s toy ‘Oscars,’ honoring the immense creativity and innovation seen across our industry,” says Steve Pasierb, The Toy Association’s president and CEO. “Based on feedback from last year’s event, the upcoming TOTYs will feature a more condensed ceremony portion despite additional award categories, a new and larger venue to house the hundreds of toy professionals who attend the gala, and more networking opportunities at the afterparty. We are proud to host this special event to pay tribute to the amazing talent that makes it their business to bring joy, learning, and laughter to children.”
The event kicks off the 115th Annual North American International Toy Fair taking place February 17 to 20, 2018 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
