Toy Donations Still Needed for Foster Kids in Chicago
June 19, 2017 | The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) is counting on big-hearted toy companies, retailers, and industry volunteers to bring the joy of play to foster children at TIF’s upcoming Play Your Part Chicago event, taking place July 20 in Chicago, IL.
About 200 children will be on-site at the special event to receive brand-new toys and games, with thousands of additional local foster children receiving donated toys throughout the year to help celebrate birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions.
TIF is still in need of the following to ensure the success of Play Your Part Chicago:
- TOY DONATIONS – especially action figures, board games, multicultural dolls, and sports toys. The Foundation is hoping to collect 10,000 toys for this event and is urging companies to donate as soon as possible. The deadline for toy donations is Thursday, July 6.
- VOLUNTEERS are still needed on-site to hand out toys and run games and activities for the kids. Contact TIF’s Elizabeth Max (646.520.4851) for volunteer registration. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, July 6.
- SPONSORSHIPS – companies are invited to sponsor an activity station at the event. Information about sponsorships is available online. The deadline to become an event sponsor is Wednesday, June 28.
