Toy Industry Foundation Launches Biggest Toy Drive of the Year

June 19, 2017 | Toy manufacturers, distributors, and retailers are encouraged to open their hearts this summer by donating toys and games to the Toy Industry Foundation’s biggest toy collection of the year – the annual Summer Toy Drive.

Taking place through Labor Day Weekend, the Summer Toy Drive’s goal is to bring magical summertime memories to millions of children in need – including kids who are sick, suffering, living on U.S. military bases, in foster care, or facing other hardships. Every kind of toy – from dolls and plush, to action figures and outdoor toys – are needed for this critical toy collection.

“For some kids, summer isn’t a carefree time filled with rainbows and sunshine. That’s why we are counting on the industry to donate, donate, donate! Every toy makes a huge difference in the life of a child facing adversity,” says Elizabeth Max, program manager at TIF.

Since The Toy Bank’s launch in 2003, the Foundation has served 23 million children in need worldwide, thanks to industry donations totaling $200 million in toys. This year, TIF’s goal is to serve an additional 2 million children in need, bringing its total to 25 million kids served and $225 million in toy donations. Join the #ToyBank25 campaign by donating to the Summer Toy Drive.
