ICTI Ethical Toy Program Helps Foster Sustainable & Responsible Business Practices

April 15, 2022 | The Toy Association is reminding member companies looking for guidance in assessing the environmental impact and ethical practices of their suppliers to take advantage of the following resources from the ICTI Ethical Toy Program (IETP):

  • A free recording is now available of the recent IETP webinar “Improve Supply Chain Transparency Through Worker Insights.” The webinar looks at supply chain trends and implications gained from the 17,770+ workers that have contacted IETP’s Grievance Mechanism, the Worker Helpline, over the past 10 years and provides an overview of the analytics tools availablethrough IETP to help businesses translate lessons learned into more resilient supply chains.
  • Complimentary guidance on compliance with the EU’s newly proposed Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, which seeks to combat child and forced labor abuses as well as environmental abuses still prevalent throughout supply chains.
  • A new Environmental Assessment tool launching in May. Adding on to IETP’s robust social certification & assessment, the tool has been developed with the support of a dedicated group of responsible sourcing experts across the global toy industry. Business owners will be able to address a wide variety of environmental areas, report on a broad range of metrics, and upload permits, and certificates with the tool.

The ICTI Ethical Toy Program (formerly ICTI CARE Process) is the ethical supply chain program for the global toy and entertainment industry. The Toy Association directly funded IETP at its founding and continues to support IETP’s work while offering its range of services to small- and mid-sized Toy Association member companies.
