April 29, 2022 | Coinciding with National Mental Health Month in May, Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WiT) has announced the launch of WiT Wellness, a year-round initiative designed to raise awareness and mobilize conversations around mental health and well-being. The initiative aims to inspire individuals to incorporate mental wellness into their daily lives and to inform companies about how they can prioritize the mental health needs of employees.
During the month of May, WiT will provide a full calendar of programming, digital content, and resources that support the WiT Wellness initiative. Resources include articles on work-life balance, support for working mothers, and information about depression.
Virtual events will include:
- WiT Community Discussion (May 10 at 2 p.m. Eastern): WiT members are invited to an open and candid conversation about mental health issues, and ways to bring about meaningful change around the topics. Free; open to WiT members only.
- Mindfulness & Meditation Casual Friday (May 13 at 2 p.m. Eastern): Participate in a casual discussion all about mindfulness and meditation. Open to WiT members (free) and non-members ($15). Attendees can share their experiences and tips and learn from others in the WiT community.
- Roundtable: Supporting Mental Health & Wellness for Women in the Workforce (May 19 at 3 p.m. Eastern): Melissa & Doug’s Lindsey Berger will moderate a discussion with leaders in the toy, licensing, and entertainment industries on topics including specific challenges related to women and their mental health at work, how companies can prioritize and support the mental health needs of their employees, and how individuals can take action within their own organizations. Free for both WiT members and non-members.
