It's More Than Play - Report
May 16, 2016
| PlayCon keynote Jeremy Gutsche, CEO of the Trend Hunter, will continue working with Toy Industry Association (TIA) and its members. Kicking off this month, TIA members can view complimentary monthly trend reports covering various toy-related topics and areas.

The reports can be accessed on ToyAssociation.org via the Knowledge Network’s Industry Reports and the Industry Facts’ Toy Trends pages.  The first installment, “It’s More than Play,” dovetails with the Genius of Play’s 2016 theme and examines trends in toys and play.

“We are thrilled that we can collaborate with TrendHunter.com to provide members with data and ideas that will help to spark innovation within their own organizations,” said Anne McConnell, TIA senior director, market research & data strategy. “Future reports will address trends in key areas of interest including retail, social media, today’s parents and more.”

Each report will include three sections:

  • Consumer Insights, generated from a crowdsourced, crowd-filtered methodology. Labeled “ProTrends,” this section identifies patterns of ideas generated from a combination of algorithms, consumer data and editorial curation.  These insights are designed to teach about creativity in the toy industry and others so that members can develop innovations for their brands.
  • Clustered Lists, with each focusing on numerous micro-trends or collections of unique ideas with many examples and links to track innovation in a specific market.
  • Specific Examples, using relevant and recent case studies, and authoritative articles spanning thousands of topics.

With 2 billion views from more than 100 million total visitors, TrendHunter.com is the world’s largest, most updated and popular trend report and consumer insight platform. Gutsche is one of PlayCon’s most engaging speakers and will continue to present as a keynote at the annual play industry event through 2018.

Members are encouraged to send topic suggestions for future trend reports to TIA’s Anne McConnell
