Give to Kids in Need: Donate Toys & Games to Hurricane Michael Relief Efforts

October 16, 2018 | The Toy Foundation (TTF) is asking the toy and game community to bring comfort to children affected by Hurricane Michael. The Foundation is accepting toy and game donations, which will be distributed to a variety of charities helping families dealing with the storm’s aftermath.

“The Toy Bank exists to comfort children in need, particularly those who have experienced a very traumatizing event like Hurricane Michael. These children likely had to leave their own toys and belongings behind as they sought shelter. By providing a new toy, game or stuffed animal, we can offer these children a little bit of cheer in an otherwise very stressful time,” said Elizabeth Max, TTF’s senior foundation manager. “We are looking for toy companies to open their hearts and help us meet the immediate needs of these families as they start to rebuild their homes and lives.”

TTF is working to get toys and games to as many displaced families as possible. In the coming weeks and months, the Foundation will be working with additional organizations to distribute toys and games to hurricane-affected families who are rebuilding their homes.

Toy companies, retailers, and others in the community who wish to join these crucial efforts are encouraged to fill out a product donation form and send it to The Toy Bank. TTF’s Toy Bank accepts brand-new toys and games of all kinds, including action figures, arts and crafts, dolls, plush, puzzles, and outdoor toys. All donations are tax deductible. Members with questions may contact Elizabeth Max.

Since 2003, $200 million in brand-new toys have been distributed to 25 million children and families in need through The Toy Bank, the Foundation’s signature program.
