Webinar Reminder: Navigating ADA Compliance Online

someone-using-laptopMarch 22, 2024 | Toy industry professionals are reminded to sign up for “Digital Accessibility and Website ADA Compliance,” an upcoming webinar hosted by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (Astra) in collaboration with The Toy Association™, taking place Thursday, March 28 at 2 p.m. (Eastern).

To help toy companies comply with The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a federal law requiring public places be accessible to disabled people, the webinar will provide an overview of proper website accessibility that is ADA compliant. It will also examine what puts companies at risk for accessibility lawsuits, tools to test for accessibility, how to remove digital barriers, and strategies to maintain accessibility.

In addition, attendees will receive actionable tips for proactive compliance and learn how making their digital channels more accessible to people with disabilities can offer a better overall user experience. Toy retailers will also discuss their first-hand experiences with these lawsuits.

Registration is now open. The webinar will be presented Jeremy D. Richardson, partner at SGR Law, Kris Rivenburgh, founder of accessible.org, Maryam Al-Hammami, owner of The Game Chest, and David Castillo, vice president of the Red Balloon Toy Store. Sue Warfield, president of Astra, will moderate.

The session is open to all at no cost. It is specifically recommended for retail, marketing, and e-commerce teams that promote or sell products through websites or mobile apps.

Questions about this webinar and other educational opportunities The Toy Association offers may be directed to Anne McConnell, senior director of market research & educational initiatives.
