115th North American International Toy Fair Dazzles Global Play Professionals & Toy Lovers

The vibrant global toy and play community descended upon New York City last week for The Toy Association’s 115th North American International Toy Fair. In all, 26,236 professionals attended the largest toy show in the Western Hemisphere, where they got a sneak peek at hundreds of thousands of cutting-edge toys and games shown across 442,700 net square feet of exhibit space – the equivalent of about seven football fields filled with toys. The show was held Saturday, February 17 to Tuesday, February 20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The Toy Association Elects New Leadership at Annual General Meeting

At its Annual General Meeting open to all Toy Association member representatives held earlier today, The Toy Association announced the election of five new members to its Board of Directors for two-year terms expiring in February 2020. The meeting also saw the chairmanship gavel pass to Bob Wann, Chief Play Monster of PlayMonster, LLC, from retiring board chairman David Hargreaves of Hasbro, Inc. The meeting was held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center during the 115th North American International Toy Fair.

The Toy Foundation Funds Nemours Nearly $1M to Date

The Toy Foundation (TTF) has awarded a second grant of $425,000 to the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science (CHDS), a part of Nemours Children's Health System. TTF, the philanthropic arm of the North American toy industry, is supporting Nemours' work on a multi-phase research project to explore the impact of trauma-informed patient care and the role of play in helping children and families heal and cope with medical conditions and treatments.

Second Annual Play Fair Returns to New York City

Play Fair, the public celebration of play and entertainment for all ages, returned to New York City on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5. Hosted by The Toy Association in partnership with LeftField Media, the immersive, experience-rich event expanded both in size and in on-site entertainment, providing more than 20,000 children, parents, families, and fans with a first look at the toys and games expected to top wishlists this holiday season.
