Toys“R”Us Bankruptcy Update: Deadline Established for Filing Claims

January 10, 2018 | The Toy Association issued a Member Bulletin to manufacturer members on Wednesday notifying them of the latest updates and filings related to the Toys“R”Us bankruptcy proceedings.

According to dockets filed in December, claims against Toys“R”Us must be filed with Prime Clerk by April 6 at 5 p.m. (Eastern). This includes claims arising before the September 18, 2017 petition date. More specific instructions can be found in the bulletin’s referenced dockets and online. The deadline and process does not apply to claims against Toys“R”Us Canada.

“We urge businesses to read the latest documents carefully,” says Paul Vitale, The Toy Association’s executive vice president of finance and operations. “As we continue to monitor the Toys“R”Us bankruptcy process, we remain vigilant in sharing any pertinent information immediately with our members. All available information is accessible in our dedicated members-only section of the Association’s website and is updated as soon as anything new is made available.”

Members will be kept apprised of any developments on this topic. Companies are encouraged to contact Paul Vitale with questions.
