This webinar discusses high-level research findings on opportunities, obstacles, and key success factors for expanding distribution into the Chinese toy market. Data from international consultancy firm, Kidz Global, analyzes kids’ routines and play preferences, digital activities, gift-giving behavior, brand awareness, and implications for manufacturers. The Toy Association will offer business market intelligence (e.g. demographics, economic growth, toy market trends and retail channels) to help companies develop sound market entry strategies for this region. In addition, a member of the Toy Association’s External Affairs team in Washington D.C. will provide a brief update on the status of tariffs and the trade situation between the U.S. and China.

Anne McConnell is senior director of market research and data strategy at The Toy Association. In this role, she oversees the Association’s market research studies, working closely with member companies to identify information needs and fostering relationships with domestic and international research consultancies to share vital business intelligence with toy industry stakeholders. Anne has more than 20 years of experience in market research and data analysis.

As The Toy Association’s Vice President of Federal Government Affairs, Rebecca Mond works with legislators and regulators on a federal and international level to advocate on behalf of the toy industry’s interests on a wide range of issues including: product safety, international trade, Customs issues like import surveillance, compliance, intellectual property protection, tax, emerging technology and transportation.

Prior to joining Kidz Global, Philippe was a director of The NPD Group Inc., a leading global provider of consumer and retail information for a wide range of industries. He started as a Durable Goods Consultant at AC Nielsen prior to joining NPD. He has extensive experience in the toys and games, and licensing and entertainment industries in the North American, European, Australian, Latin American and Asian markets. Philippe has more than 22 years of marketing and analysis experience, offering expert insight into understanding the Durable Goods markets throughout the world, as well as analyzing the retail landscape, competition, consumer behavior and brand line architecture, and assisting his clients in planning strategies to achieve the best results for their product segments.
